Spotlights talented, smaller, independent boat builders on Cape Cod, the South Coast and South Shore. Visitors can talk to each builder – the people who create and construct the many displayed boats. Maritime vendors. The show, now in its 17th year, raises the boating public’s awareness of the many talented, smaller, independent boat builders located on Cape Cod, the South Coast and the South Shore.
The three-day event is one of the few remaining boat shows in the country dedicated solely to providing boat owners, boat buyers and those individuals interested in boats and boat building with the opportunity to participate in a truly unique show experience.
Show visitors get the chance to talk to each builder – the people who create and construct the many beautiful boats that will be on display.
The combined experience of the exhibitors covers all types of boat construction from plank-on-frame to molded fiberglass to cold-molded composite construction.
This assembly of builders have worked in all boat building processes.
“The show presents a family of builders, passionate and proud of their product,” said Scott Dayton, show organizer.
Other show exhibitors include marine-related businesses from sail makers to those in engine repair and re-powering, nautical books, coatings, marine technology, pennants and flags, marine canvas and more.
On Saturday at 2 p.m., the show welcomes speaker, experienced captain and sailing journalist Ronnie Simpson.
He is a combat-wounded Iraq war veteran and marine industry professional who will share his interesting and inspirational story of how sailing and boating has changed his life.
A Portland, Maine based sailor with more than 175,000 miles at sea, Simpson sailed an Open 50 in the previous edition of the Global Solo Challenge but unfortunately it was dismasted, and the boat was lost off the coast of Argentina after racing more than three quarters around the globe.
He is determined to finish the Global Solo Challenge race.
Show visitors looking for a new boat, maintaining an existing one or simply passionate about boating and the ocean, will find this a “must see” show, said Dayton.
