Families with allergies are invited to enjoy a peanut-free day at Fenway Park on the following dates: April 17, May 12, June 2, July 14, and August 25. The PAF seating area is located in Right Field Roof Terrace (A and B) on the 4th level of the park.
Special seating is available for those games in the roof terraces in right field. The area is cleaned 12 hours before the game and the surrounding concession stands will not sell peanut products during the game.
Tickets for these peanut-free games are sold on a first-come, first-served basis through this email address: [email protected].
Fenway Park also has a few other ways to make a game more peanut allergy-friendly:
- Concessions stands near the PAF section don't sell peanuts during the game.
- You can bring your own snacks.
- You can request an allergen chart at any concession stand.
- You can email [email protected] to get on the Red Sox Peanut-Free mailing list.
FAQ
What makes these dates 'Peanut Allergy Friendly'?
We have several measures in place to ensure a safe and comfortable environment at each of our PAF games:
- The Terraces are thoroughly cleaned prior to each game and carefully inspected for any remaining traces of peanuts
- Medical staff is present at all times in case of emergency
- Additional security staff is in place to validate tickets and allow only PAF guests into the seating area
- Peanuts are prohibited in surrounding sections and concession stands closest to the Terrace level remove peanut and peanut products from their menu
- Fan Services staff members are located in the sections throughout the duration of the game to answer questions and assist as needed
What concessions are safe to eat if I have a peanut allergy?
*Nearly all food prepared at the park is safe for those with peanut allergies, with the exception of Fritos, ice cream cones and of course, bags of peanuts and peanut M&Ms. Each concession stand should be equipped with an allergen chart that you may ask to see if you have further questions.
About one in 90 Americans is allergic to either tree nuts or peanuts, according to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, and the number of kids with peanut allergies tripled between 1997 and 2008. Furthermore, about 150 people die each year from food allergies.
