Friends of the Children-Boston is a nonprofit serving the youth of Greater Boston (Roxbury, Dorchester, and East Boston) who are facing the highest system barriers to success.Youth - who we call “Achievers” - in the program are paired with a 1:1 full time professional mentor in the first grade for 12 years+ until they graduate high school, no matter what.
During their time with us, they and their siblings and caregivers receive holistic, wrap-around support from academics, personal growth, career planning, social-emotional skills, financial literacy and resource support, and much more to help them reach their greatest potential.
Our Annual Pickle with Friends: Pickleball Tournament - this year on March 4 (Men's tournament) and 5 (Women's tournament) - is in an incredible new format for our players and guests.
It's going to be filled with friendly competition, community spirit, a chance to celebrate the amazing work of Friends of the Children-Boston and compete for the prestigious Big Dill Championship Trophy!
This two-day tournament is hosted by Friends of the Children-Boston in partnership with the Board Co-Chair Robert Hallagan, with 100% of the proceeds supporting the work and mission of our organization.
This exciting two-day event will culminate with the Final Serve Closing Celebration at Studio B in Big Night Live on Thursday, March 6th at 6pm.
The Final Serve Closing Celebration, hosted by the Friends of the Children-Boston's Young Professionals Board, is open to both pickleball players and the general public.
The evening will be a celebration of the week's biggest achievements, featuring a raffle and silent auction with some amazing items up for grabs.
