Wellesley Theatre Project (WTP) will present MISCAST: A Musical Cabaret on Saturday April 29th at 5pm and Sunday April 30th at 2pm and 5pm, featuring students from the audition-only touring group, IMPACT!

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

The cabaret will take place at the WTP studio, located at 98R Central St.in Wellesley.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.wellesleytheatreproject.org/tickets or at the studio.

IMPACT! is comprised of students ranging from 2nd grade through 10th grade who demonstrate advanced performance skills and leadership.

The current students come from the Wellesley, Natick, Waban, and Concord communities.

The group’s mission is for the students to engage in their local and global communities through outreach by addressing important social values through dramatic performance.

MISCAST: A Musical Cabaret will take traditional musical theatre selections and perform them untraditionally!

Join us for solo and group performances with singing and dancing, appropriate for all ages, as well as original monologues written and performed by the students.

The group is led by Hannah Shihdanian, WTP’s Director of Community Outreach/Resident Choreographer; and Eric Anderson Jr., Music Director.

Hannah Shihdanian, director of the cabaret, says, “We chose the theme of Miscast because we think it's important as actors, to imagine what it would be like to walk in someone else's shoes.

These are also roles that some of these kids will never get to play anywhere else!'

Wellesley Theatre Project is an arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (PreK - 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.

Registration is open for WTP’s 2017 Summer Camps.

Sessions include three production camps geared for students between 2nd and 12th grade in addition to one week Theatre Arts camps for Pre K- 12th grade.

The production camps are: The Lion King Jr. (Grades 2-8), Peter Pan (Grades 2-12), and Chicago (Grades 8-12).
