Explore Main Street and its layers of history and architectural styles.
Using photographs from our collection, stories from the past, and some unexpected activities, examine changes that have taken place downtown.
This isn’t your average walking tour.
Be prepared to learn, participate, and most importantly have fun!
The tour will begin at 11am in front of the Andover Historical Society at 97 Main Street in Andover Center, cover no more than one mile of walking on level sidewalks and end at approximately 12pm.
Shoes comfortable for walking are recommended and strollers and baby carriers are welcome.
This event is one of more than 150 FREE events that are a part of Essex Heritage’s TRAILS & SAILS: Two Weekends of Walks & Water, to be held this September 16-18 and 23-25, 2016.
Presented by Essex Heritage, TRAILS & SAILS features more than 150 free events over two weekends and celebrates the rich variety of historic, cultural and natural resources in the Essex National Heritage Area (Essex County).
TRAILS & SAILS highlights the unique character of the Area by directly connecting people to place through 150+ creative experiences.
More than 4,000 attendees are expected to take part in the diverse line up of events appealing to everyone from history buffs and art lovers to “foodies”, paddlers, cyclists and more.
