Rare example of 18th and 19th century farm which still retains the character of its original setting.

It consists of the house, 2 barns and cultivated fields surrounded by stone walls and woodlands.

The farm was lived in continuously by the Martin family for 200 years until 1930 when it was donated by Susan Taber Martin Allien to the National Society of the Colonial Dames of Ma.

In 1979, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The house is furnished with a number of Martin family pieces and with Mrs. Alliens collection of English and American antiques.

The 1814 kitchen retains its original fireplace with iron crane and equipped with appropriate cooking utensils.

Also are a spinning wheel and loom and a noteworthy collection of several needlepoint samplers on the second floor.

Bring the kids and have them see what life was like before the Revolutionary War and before electronics!
