You also need a computer and the free version of Zoom.

Students will need to get their images into a folder in google drive for reviews shared with [email protected]

Free editing tools that might be fun are Darktable and GIMP.

But it is not necessary to submit edited images.

Photo files should be in jpeg format.

April 13-17, Sense of Place: This class will take a documentary approach to image making.

Lessons and assignments in decisive moment, storytelling, using detail, medium and wide shots to establish a sense of place, self portraits, portraits, candids v posed imagery, mood, lighting, observation and exploring our home and family life visually.

Each day will have a lesson, an assignment and review of several students' work.

On the final day we will review the highlighted selection from everyone and pick a weekly favorite image which applied our lessons best.

April 20-24 , Staged Portraits, Self Portraits & Awkward Family Portraits: We will work on interesting concepts we have for portrait sessions of someone in our home and/or self portraits.

We will use our unique sense of style to bring the personality trait you are trying to enhance forward and center with lighting, design concept and learning to work with models/people.

We also find a funny, old family portrait to re-enact.

This a great class to get inside your own brain, play explore and be silly.

April 27-May 1, Photo Fundamentals & Storytelling with Images: In this class we will reinforce the main tools used in taking pictures like lighting, composition, focal point and choosing backgrounds.

We will look at how to string your visuals to tell a story about a place, person or thing using detail, medium and establishing shots.

CAMERA RENTALS: 3-week rentals of the program cameras for $75.

BUT using an iPhone is fine.

If you do rent a camera you need to be home between 12-4 the Sunday before class to receive it in a plastic bag with a battery charger, battery, image card, card reader and manual.

It will pretty much be set up to go but a tutorial will also be delivered in google drive.
