Join the Surfrider Foundation MA Chapter for a cleanup along Stage Fort Park in Gloucester, MA this Saturday, May 21st!

We will be set up from approximately 10:30am-12:30pm, but please come for any amount of time that you're able to.

All participants should preregister for this cleanup, if possible!

Additional details will be sent to registered participants ahead of the event, as well as the required waiver forms, but we will also have a QR code at the sign-in table.

Coffee and treats will generously be provided by Mayflour (a Massachusetts-based certified Ocean Friendly Restaurant).

We encourage you to bring your own mug to help prevent waste but will have some available if you aren't able to!

We will also be joined by Ripplfect (a North Shore startup that incentivizes users to bring reusables to cafes).

This “Hands Across the Sand” event and cleanup will bring people together to raise awareness about the intersections between offshore drilling and plastics, and take action to stop offshore drilling and fossil fuel development to promote a clean energy future!

By taking practical action to protect the environment, your collection efforts allow Surfrider to use data to influence laws and reduce waste at the source.

We will gather just before noon for a non-hand holding lineup photo along the shore in solidarity with people around the globe on this day, calling for an end to offshore drilling!

- Please bring your own reusable work/garden gloves for this cleanup!

(and water to stay hydrated!)

- Wear comfortable shoes.

- We’ll still provide sanitized buckets and tools for trash collection, as well as gear for data collection and plenty of hand sanitizer.

COVID-19: Please stay home if you or someone you are in close contact with is in a high-risk group, has recently had any symptoms, or suspects recently being exposed.

There are many ways to protect the ocean from home, so please feel free to reach out if you’d like any ideas!

Thank you for your help and cooperation in protecting and enjoying the ocean!

We hope to see you out there :)
