The Watertown Family Network (WFN) is a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care run through the Watertown Public Schools. Services are offered to all Watertown parents and caregivers of infants and toddlers, age birth through their fourth birthday (including babies to be!)
The goal of the WFN is to promote healthy family relationships, connect families within the community, encourage early literacy for all children and provide a Center where parents and caregivers will become more confident and educated about their parenting and leadership skills.
This is accomplished by providing facilitated playgroups for children and their parents /caregivers, parent education classes on child rearing, provide various parent interest groups including, New mom's group, working mom's, parents of twins, Parents Helping Parents and AA.
They also have special activities such as family concerts, large town-wide events and support programs. Drop-in time to the Center is also available at certain times during the week. The resource library is available to all families during office hours.
WFN facilitates Playgroups and Drop-in Playtimes where parents can meet other parents, and children can play together. They enjoy crafts, snacks, and comfy sitting areas in a child-friendly environment where children and parents can relax.
