From start to finish, and beyond, a haircut at Snip-its is truly an adventure. The adventure begins at the reception desk where kids receive their Snip-its Adventure Club pass and then meet and interact with Snips and the Gang. Flyer Joe Dryer, the adventurous explorer, and Curly Comb, the resident sports hero, along with Maranga Mirror, Jean Luc le Spritz, and Marlene and Charlene, the Clip-ette sisters, sing the Snip-its theme song and entertain customers.
At the styling station, with Mom close at hand, the Snip-its stylists work their magic, while the kids entertain themselves with the Snip-its Adventure Play Station, featuring custom computer games and activities with the Snip-its characters.
Upon completion of the haircut a lock of hair is traded in for a prize at the Snip-its Magic Box.

Burlington Snip-Its
Had a wonderful experience there today! Amy B. did an amazing job. She knew exactly what I wanted and did it quickly. It was the first haircut for my 18 month old boy. I did not like seeing the curls go, but she did such a nice job and was so friendly and kind. I absolutely recommend Snip-Its in Burlington!Problems Problems
Made two attempts to get my 2 year old daughter a haircut at Snip-Its in Hingham. The first time, they were so backed up that they refused to even take us. The second time we had to wait for over 2 hours to get into a stylist's chair, and then the stylist wasn't very friendly. Only good thing is that my daughter's haircut did come out well. Snip-Its in Hingham absolutely NEED to hire more staff. The number of customers is HUGE because they're the only salon for kids in this entire part of MA.Peabody location
I have had horrible experiences at this place. My daughter sits still and is not a difficult to cut. They cant cut it in a straight line! I have tried different people there and one of them seems to do a good job I think her name is Mimi.As Good As It Could Have Been
Considering the amount of screaming and crying that was going on and the fact that no distraction could pacify my son, we got a great haircut. We visited the Burlington location. Neem (our stylist) was calm and didn't get frustrated at all. She even provided a big seat for me to sit in as I tried to control the writhing and wiggling. Definitely a professional operation and I'll be going back for our next cut. It's a bit expensive, but then again, what isn't expensive for kids nowadays?Get The Right Tech
The Chestnut Hill Snippets is very unorganized, they don't seem to know when their employees are working.
I will only let one lady that works there cut my little boys hair. She listens and is able to do what you ask for without an attitude,or getting offended. She is very professional and friendly.
I got one lady that had my child looking like he was one of Hitlers Youth!!!
He looked awful!!!! It took me a year to bring him back there.
Now I take him there only if I can get an appointment with Mojava.DON'T GO
I have attempted to get my kids' hair cut at the Hingham location twice. The first time, I arrived 30 minutes prior to closing and the store was locked and the lights were out. There was no note on the door about an early closing.
The second time was today. I called this morning to make sure they would be opened and expressed my concerns after the last incident. I was told they would be open until 6 and they would not close early. I arrived with my 3 and 5 year old children at 5:24 and was told that they couldn't be seen today. See you later! I said that I had called and made sure to be here with plenty of time. The girl didn't care and my kids, who happen to like haircuts, were very disappointed and crying.
I am not local but usually need to have the kids hair cut when I'm visiting my parents who are local. The only way to make an appointment is to buy in ($25) to their VIP program. I refuse to do this as I'm only here once or twice per year.
I will not be returning. Twice burned... too many times with small children.Snipits
My daughter looks adorable after her first Snipits haircut. I appreciate the restraint the stylist used in cutting the length. And she was really cool with me snapping away lots of photos. And now my caveats. The receptionist was shy or quiet and didn't explain or offer any additional information on their specials and services. We asked about getting a shampoo, but she forgot to tell the stylist so we missed getting one (or the stylist forgot). She did not explain to my daughter how any of the character toys or gadgets worked. We didn't know if we could touch/play with any of the shop's interesting decor. I did feel a bit rushed at the end. So, the communication and face-time there needs improvement, but we liked the haircut and the cute decor.Great For Us
You may pay a few extra dollars but definitely a fun time for us. You may have had a bad experience at the Chestnut Hill Mall but I've been to Peabody and North Andover and it's been great!Horrible Experience For My Toddler
I took my son there for the first and for sure last time, thinking that it would be as marvelous as I read it was... 'patient and trained stylists that will make it a fun experience... blah, blah, blah...' Well, I don't know if such stylists don't work on the weekend or it is just a lie at the Snip its at the Chestnut Hill mall.... Cranky women, no patience whatsoever, very mediocre haircut... My husband and I were the ones trying ard to keep our son from crying..... the woman who cut his hair was FAR from friendly and warm to the child. The other stylists seemed the same... Next time I will go back to our old italian barber, I know he is not 'specialized in kids', but at least we know what we are getting and there are no surprises! If your child is not afraid of getting haircuts, then you can take him/her there, but don't expect anything spectacular because you won't find it.Go Elsewhere
I took my 6 & 4 year old for haircuts on 12/24/07 to Chestnut Hill Snip-Its. The same hairdresser cut both my kids hairs. The older child's cut was just okay but my younger child's haircut was dreadful. When I asked the hairdresser to change the 'bowl shape' cut she had given him. She aggressively said ' I gave them both the same cut' When I challenged her on this again she was huffing and puffing, gave a few snips here and there but essentially my 4 yr old left with an awful haircut. He of course does not care but I do. This event somewhat spoiled our Christmas as in our Christmas day photographs my otherwise beautiful little boys looks not at his best due to the dreadful cut.RELATED LINKS | ↑ top |
