IMPORTANT NOTE
Just a reminder that the Boston Children's Museum will be closing temporarily to visitors beginning on January 1, 2007 for the final phases of construction. The new museum will re-open in April 2007.

Kid's can play with boats, barges, crafts, and vessels of all shapes and sizes, and discover urban water environments. An amazing 28-foot-long, 800-gallon water tank is a replica of Fort Points Channel scene outside the Museum's window complete with replicas of the four bridges.

Kids can float homemade boats and other floating and sinking objects along the currents. They can also put on life jackets, bib pants, sou'wester, and foul weather gear and climb aboard the Minnow, a real life size boat.

The Children's Museum is unlike any other, designed specifically to help children understand and enjoy the world in which they live. Home to ARTHUR'S WORLD, the Smith Family PlaySpace, and sponsor of annual The Big Apple Circus, the Museum is Boston's best place for kids ages 0-10 and all the adults in their lives!

Located right across the Fort Point Channel bridge, Boston Childrens Museum offers a broad selection for kids of all ages, with a healthy emphasis of 'hands on' exhibits, the museum aims to please even its smallest guests.

The wonderful 'Playspace,' just for toddlers and pre-schoolers, has a variety of safe, developmental activities, and the adjoining Parent Resource Room provides a quiet place for nursing or just reading a book to your little one. Kids 3 to 8 will surely gravitate toward the construction zone and the two-story climbing maze.

The creative 'Build It!' exhibit has giant Lego blocks for your imaginative construction engineer and the 'Giant's Desk Top' exhibit is perfect for hide-and-seek among oversized everyday objects like a chair-size coffee cup and a desk-size telephone.

The Children's Museum also offers an ongoing storytime on Mondays & Thursdays at 10:30am. For ages 0-3. Storytime is free with museum admission. Toddlers are read enchanting tales that stir the imagination at the Smith Family PlaySpace.
