Chefs & Hosipitality

For aspiring chefs and hospitality professionals, Minuteman's summer programs offer two tantalizing courses: Culinary Arts and Hospitality, and Cakes and Crafts!

Under the guidance of industry experts, the Culinary Arts and Hospitality program will have students honing their culinary skills. Through hands-on cooking sessions and workshops, students may even be bringing home something they made!

Cakes and Crafts are for the bakers out there; students will learn the basics of cake decorating, including frosting a cake, filling a decorator bag, designing a border, utilizing various tips for different effects, and writing simple messages. The class will include demonstrations and hands-on activities!

First Aid & Early Education

Our “Save a Life! CPR and First Aid Certification will allow students an overview of First Aid basics and CPR with hands-on practice. Students who complete the course (all 5 days) will receive the American Heart Association Heartsaver K-12 Training complete card!

This is great for future babysitters and lifeguards! We also have an Early Education class that will cater to students who want to work with younger children. In this class, you get the chance to create activities for children ages 3-6 in our CCA summer program.

With a focus on hands-on learning and real-world applications, Minuteman's summer programs offer students the chance to develop essential trade and technical skills.

Engineering & Automotive Tech

Whether exploring Electrical Engineering or Automotive Technology, participants gain practical experience through projects tailored to industry standards. Under the guidance of skilled professionals, students learn fundamental techniques, safety protocols, and problem-solving strategies!

Environmental Science

For students who love the sciences, we offer three outstanding courses: Environmental: Ocean and Climate, Environmental: Life Aquatic, and Basic Plant Science.

In Ocean and Climate, spend a week learning about the physical properties of the world’s oceans! Why is the ocean salty, and how do we measure that? What happens when our oceans warm up?

The Life Aquatic course is for students who want to learn about the many, many organisms that live in fresh and saltwater. We will explore different aquatic habitats, the adaptions needed to survive in them, and even create our super-organisms!

Basic Plant Science is a fun and engaging course that will teach students basic plant science, entomology, propagation, and land management/stewardship.

Students will leave with house plants that have been propagated by a variety of techniques used in the industry as well as things that support the environment.

Cosmetology & Design

Perhaps your student is more creative at heart. We offer Cosmetology, and Design and Visual Communication. Love watching endless YouTube tutorials on hair, nails, and makeup application? Then sign up for our salon experience with our Cosmetology class!

Budding digital artists will find a lot of inspiration in our Design and Visual Communications course! Learn about graphic design and website design, and more using Adobe Suite, Macs, and other state-of-the-art equipment.

Summer Enrichment

Minuteman also offers many summer enrichment and academic classes for grades 6-12! Interested in boosting your Algebra 1 or 2? Sign up for these two-week classes!

Explore some mathematics fun with our Mathematics in Games course! Perhaps you want to sharpen your reading and writing skills; we offer English for grades 7-12.

Expand a young scientist's mind with courses like Biology or Chemistry! We also offer a peek into our electives here at Minuteman: Introduction to Black and White Darkroom Photography, Intro to Digital Photography, Spanish and Latin American Art, and one of our newer electives ASL!

Minuteman is located at 758 Marrett Road (Route 2A) in Lexington, which is
close to the I-95 and Route 2 interchange. Free school bus transportation is provided
only to students living in Minuteman's nine-member towns of Acton, Arlington, Bolton,
Concord, Dover, Lancaster, Lexington, Needham, and Stow. *The deadline for free bus
transportation is 4/26/24.
