This beloved event showcases the expertise of New England garden clubs, professional designers, and MFA floral volunteers, who create interpretive arrangements inspired by artworks from the collection.
Enjoy dozens of bold arrangements throughout the building, along with special events, guided tours, dining, and shopping.
For nearly five decades, the beloved event has paired art from the MFA’s collection—from ancient to contemporary—with floral interpretations created by New-England area garden clubs, professional floral designers, and volunteers.
In addition to 45 interpretive arrangements, highlights of this year’s celebration include interactive demonstrations from Jimmy Guzman, floral designer and founder of JNG Event Consulting, and two master classes with Sandra Sigman, author of French Blooms: Floral Arrangements Inspired by Paris and Beyond and founder of Les Fleurs, a French-inspired floral, home, and garden shop in Andover, MA.
Art in Bloom launches at the Museum with a special preview of freshly installed arrangements on Thursday, May 1. One-hour private group tours will be offered on Thursday and Friday, and advance registration is required.
On Saturday and Sunday, visitors can enjoy free drop-in tours of arrangements throughout the galleries (included with Museum admission). MFA members enjoy an exclusive viewing of Art in Bloom during Member Night on Saturday, May 3.
Art in Bloom attendees can also experience the Museum’s major spring exhibition Van Gogh: The Roulin Family Portraits (opening March 30), as well as Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson (on view through June 22).
Art in Bloom is included with general admission and tickets can be purchased in advance on mfa.org or at the door. Tickets and reservations for private group tours and master classes are available on mfa.org
