The amount of rainfall experienced this week elevated bacterial counts above acceptable swimming standards, as reflected in water analysis results we received Friday and Saturday. While cancelling the event is disappointing, our top priority is swimmer health and safety. Swim the Charles this summer with CitySplash!
Join the Charles River Conservancy this summer for CitySplash! This year’s City Splash summer swim event will be held on the Fiedler Field of the Boston Esplanade.
Charles River Swimming Day welcomes swimmers to take a recreational dip or compete with their peers along a waterway typically reserved for kayaks and sailboats.
A daylong celebration where people can plunge into the city's biggest swimming pool - the Charles River. A group of swimmers will be able to jump in every half-hour and either splash around or swim laps.
2025 will be the Charles River Conservancy’s 9th year of urban river swims. Join us on Saturday, June 12th at the Fiedler Field dock for an afternoon of swimming, splashing, and jumping in the river!
Charles River Swimming Day welcomes swimmers to take a recreational dip or compete with their peers along a waterway typically reserved for kayaks and sailboats.
Organizers will host both a one-mile race and a free swim near the Esplanade’s Fiedler Dock on the same day. A group of swimmers will be able to jump in every half-hour and either splash around or swim laps.
NOTE - Experienced swimmers must be age 10+ , and confident in deep water.
A bag check will be available; bathrooms and refreshments are nearby.
Pre-registration is required.
