Swim the Charles this summer with CitySplash! Join the Charles River Conservancy this summer for CitySplash! This year’s City Splash summer swim event will be held on the Fiedler Field of the Boston Esplanade.
Charles River Swimming Day welcomes swimmers to take a recreational dip or compete with their peers along a waterway typically reserved for kayaks and sailboats.
- On-land activities free and open to public throughout event (for all ages)
- Swimming in 25-minute pre-registered slots (for adults 18+ and older)
A daylong celebration where people can plunge into the city's biggest swimming pool - the Charles River. A group of swimmers will be able to jump in every half-hour and either splash around or swim laps.
2026 will be the Charles River Conservancy’s 10th year of urban river swims. Join us at the Fiedler Field dock for an afternoon of swimming, splashing, and jumping in the river!
Charles River Swimming Day welcomes swimmers to take a recreational dip or compete with their peers along a waterway typically reserved for kayaks and sailboats.
Organizers will host both a one-mile race and a free swim near the Esplanade’s Fiedler Dock on the same day. A group of swimmers will be able to jump in every half-hour and either splash around or swim laps.
NOTE - Experienced swimmers must be age 10+ , and confident in deep water.
A bag check will be available; bathrooms and refreshments are nearby.
Pre-registration is required.
