Town Day had its beginning in the mid 1970's when a group of residents of the town decided that a late spring community party would be a great way to start off the summer.Thousands of individuals and families attend each year to enjoy a day of browsing exhibits, playing games, competing in athletics, eating (!), listening to different types of music, attending the health fair, and watching the grand finale, fireworks.
Town Day usually takes place on the first Saturday in June.

On Friday evening, (Town Day Eve), Ben Rudnick & Friends will be playing a live set at 6:30pm in front of the Mt. Vernon St. Firehouse. The street is closed and there will literally be dancing in the streets.
On Saturday Evening, there will be a fireworks display at Manchester Field at 9:15PM. You can fine more fireworks displays near Boston in our handy guide to summer fun!
Town Day is produced by the Winchester Town Day Committee, an all-volunteer group that welcomes new members. Town Day is self-funded through the sales of exhibitor space, T-Shirts and hats. In addition, the generosity of several local sponsors assist in funding several of the Town Day events.
Town Day continues to grow in popularity as a great way to kick off the summer in a New England town!
