Boston's TubaChristmas returns to the Downtown Crossing Steps on November 30th at 12 noon with over 100 regional brass instrument players offering up classic holiday favorites. Players will wear festive holiday attire and many will have their instruments similarly decked out. Classic, upbeat holiday favorites are played on various instruments in the tuba family, from euphonias to sousaphones.
Downtown Crossing Steps (Washington St. @ Franklin St.) from 12 noon to 1:30pm.
Holiday Market & Giant Nutcracker Decorations
Downtown shoppers and visitors can also check out the Downtown Boston Holiday Market, opening November 29th for the holidays through the end of December on the Summer Street Plaza, and check out the new 16-foot animal-themed lighted nutcrackers in Downtown Crossing.
Additionally, the neighborhood will be dressed in seasonal decorations and ready for the holidays.
Bostonians will have the opportunity to hear their favorite Christmas carols tuba-style. Downtown Crossing welcomes participants from around New England ranging in ages from 8 to 85.
Every Christmas season, tuba and euphonium players of all ages, from specific geographic areas, gather to pay respect to Harvey G. Phillips and William J. Bell, and all the great artists/teachers who represent their heritage.
Come join the herd of magnificent Tuba players and usher in the holiday season with great live music!
The warm and enchanting sound of this tuba-euphonium choir has won the hearts of audiences throughout the world. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this holiday tradition.
This event is free, open to the public and fully accessible.
