Dir. Alexandr Sokurov, 2002

'Russian Ark' is a unique journey through time and Russian history. Filmed entirely in the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Sokurov's breathtaking film recreates 300 years of history and culture and is the first entirely unedited, single-take, full-length feature film.

This film screening is a part of the Film Series: Museums in Motion hosted by the Davis Museum.

All films take place in Collins Cinema beginning at 6:30pm.

In honor of the Davis’s newly installed permanent collections galleries, uncover the secret life of museums through this selection of recent cinematic masterpieces.

These contemporary films pull back the curtain on unique, behind-the-scenes views of museum activities and characters, both real and imagined.
