Sample an abundance of chowders, signature dishes, ice cream, sweets and more from dozens of Hingham’s finest restaurants, markets and shops. Enjoy live music, free horse-drawn hayrides, kids’ activities and fun for all at this 7th annual street fair to benefit the Hingham Food Pantry and 19 other South Shore charities.

Taste of Hingham was started in 2004 in response to a vision of celebrating and building awareness of all that Hingham has to offer, and simultaneously using the proceeds to benefit over 15 South Shore non-profit organizations. The Hingham Congregational Church, the Hingham Downtown Association and Eat Well, Inc sponsor Taste of Hingham.

Over 30 of Hingham’s finest restaurants and food purveyors offered samples of their very best offerings last year. The crowds love this opportunity to taste a little bit of every thing from across Town, and to then cast votes for:

‘Hingham’s Favorite Chowder’

‘Taste of the Town’

‘Hingham’s Best Accompaniment’

‘My Favorite Frozen Desert’.

100% of the proceeds from the event are distributed to non-profit organizations by the Board of Outreach of the Hingham Congregational Church.

Sponsored by the Hingham Downtown Association, the Hingham Congregational Church and Eat Well, Inc.

3-starNice Day Out
We had a great time-great weather if you planned well with cool clothes and sunblock.. Parking was pretty easy to find-plenty of spots along Main Street. The tickets at the door were cash only- and of course all nearby ATMs were empty-that was a bit of a hassle trying to find. Ticket prices should have been closer to $20 rather than $30 though. Although the food was decent- the variety was not. Every booth seemed to have clam chowder (on a brutal hot day) or pulled pork sandwiches. I would have stretched it out a bit more-the line for the icecream booths was all over the place.Overall it was a nice time with the family- just needed a few minor tweaks.
