Get ready for the ultimate chowder celebration at the 40th Annual Essex ClamFest and Arts & Craft Festival presented by the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce.

Join us at Shepard Memorial Park in Essex to help pick a People’s Choice Winner in the Clam Chowder Competition where local chefs face off for the title of best chowder.

Tasting begins at Noon and goes until 1 PM or until supplies run out.

Enjoy live music all day to keep the good vibes rolling plus a variety of vendors offering crafts, food, and more!

Bring your family and friends and come hungry – it’s going to be a shell of a good time!

Clam Chowder Competition- Participating Restaurants:
35 Beach, Castle Manor Inn, Maple Street Bistro (Essex North Shore Tech), JT Farnham's, The Farm, The James Pub & Provisions, Vita Bella Ristorante, Woodman's of Essex

* Food Vendors to include: 5 Star Phresh Food, Essex Lions Club, Holy Cow Ice Cream, Maple St Bistro (Essex Tech) and Woodman's on Wheels (WOW) Food Truck
* Also Featuring local brews from Rockport Brewing
* Musical entertainment by Uncharted Watahs and Brick House.
* Over 50 Crafters, businesses, and Non-profit tables
* Kids Activities

From Boston and surrounding areas, take most convenient route to I-95/128 North. Follow signs toward Gloucester. I-95N will break away in Peabody, you will stay on Route 128N.


Continue on Rt. 128N to Exit 15 in Manchester (School Street). Turn left at end of exit ramp onto School Street, School Street becomes Southern Avenue. Proceed for approximately 2.5 miles to end of Southern Avenue. Turn left onto Main Street/Route 133; follow for approximately .8 mile (passing Woodman’s Restaurant on your left and further down on your right, Periwinkles Restaurant). Turn left onto Western Avenue from Route 133. Shepard Memorial Park is on the left, across from BankGloucester.
