On Sunday, November 1st and Monday, November 2nd, Besito Mexican, the highly acclaimed Mexican restaurant with locations in Chestnut Hill and Burlington, invites diners to celebrate El Dia de los Muertos, or the “Day of the Dead,” with authentic cuisine and traditional holiday décor.

Besito promises guests an authentic Dia de los Muertos’ dining experience, as hosts and servers don colorful face paint in a sugar skull or calaca style design and educate diners on the history of the Mexican holiday.

The restaurant’s vibrant, hacienda-style dining room will be adorned with traditional decorations, such as “ofrendas” or altars, to further aid guests in getting into the Dia de los Muertros spirit by honoring ancestors and celebrating loved ones.

A special menu created by Besito’s culinary team polishes off the Dia de los Muetros celebration by offering two limited-time, honorary dishes.

For lunch, guests can enjoy a Quesadilla de Camarones, which features a flour tortilla filled with sautéed shrimp and pickled jalapenos, topped off with queso fresco and guacamole, and for dinner, the kitchen will offer a delectable Arrachera Con Camarones, consisting of fresh jumbo shrimp, grilled strip steak, mashed sweet plantains, finished by salsa ranchera, queso fresco and fresh cilantro.

To end the Dia de los Muertos celebration on a sweet note, guests will be treated to complimentary artisanal Dia de los Muertos chocolates, handmade by Mayan chocolatier Casa de Chocolates, and a tasting of Patron XO or Patron Cocoa, courtesy of Patron Tequila.
