Boston restaurants are firing up the grills to show their burger skills at the 5th Annual Burger Slam!

The event will take place at Spontaneous Celebrations in Jamaica Plain on Saturday, May 14th.

What started as a small school fundraiser has grown into a community event.

Local chefs from Gaslight (South End), Grass Fed (Jamaica Plain), The Haven (Jamaica Plain), Stephanie’s on Newbury (Back Bay) and The Rox (West Roxbury) will battle it out for the 2016 BEST BURGER AWARD.

From 6:30-10:30pm, guests try each of 5 burgers and then cast their vote for the worthy winner of the People’s Choice Award.

A distinguished panel of judges including Julia Collin-Davidson (America’s Test Kitchen), Captain Alfredo Andres, Councilor Matt O’Malley and the Manning’s own Marvin “Marty” Mitchell will determine the Judge’s Choice Award for best burger.

Tickets priced at $40* (includes one mini-burger from each participating restaurant, and one free drink) help to support a strong curriculum at the JP Manning Elementary School.

Your entrance ticket also gives you the option to bid on great items through a SILENT AUCTION including hotel stays, original art work, foodie related baskets, and entertainment/sports tickets.

Boston Public School-wide budget cuts are hitting the Manning particularly hard, which makes fundraisers like this more important than ever!
