Transport yourself to Paris (without the airfare) at a Paris-inspired street festival and baking competition on Sunday. Both amateur and professional bakers will compete for the title of best sourdough loaf and baguette respectively.
It’s all the action of a TV baking show right in East Cambridge! While you watch the competition unfold, snack on bites and sip on wine from local food vendors and enjoy the French festival feel.
The festival and competition is inspired by a Paris baguette competition where professional bakers compete to have their baguettes be crowned the best in Paris. The winner gets bragging rights and becomes the official supplier of the French presidential residence for the year.
The competition will be split into two categories: amateur and professional. Professionals will submit the traditional baguette, while this year’s amateur category will feature sourdough loaves.
Contestants will submit their breads on the morning of the competition and they will be judged blind by a panel of experts and local luminaries. The winners of the competition will be announced live at the festival. The winner of the professional category will become the official bread supplier of the Boston Consulate General of France for 2023!
