Registration is open for the inaugural Climate Ride Northeast – Bar Harbor to Boston Five-day bike-a-thon supports environmental sustainability and bike advocacy
Thursday, Sept. 17 to Monday, Sept. 21

The five-day 320-mile bike-a-thon will take participants along the scenic coast of Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts while raising awareness and funds for sustainability, cycling advocacy, active transportation and environmental causes.

Riders have the power to direct funds raised to more than 100 regional and national nonprofits.

The event goal is to raise $400,000.

Climate Ride Northeast –Bar Harbor to Boston is a fully supported bike-a-thon which provides meals, snacks, bike support, luggage transport and lodging for participants along the route.

On the road, the Climate Ride support team assists riders to each day’s final destination.

The multi-day event is organized for riders to explore the beauty of the national parks and the outdoors creating a deeper connection to the landscape they are helping to protect.

Each night, business, policy, public health and environment experts engage participants in conversations about the latest conservation and sustainability issues.

New this year, “Ignite Nights” provides riders with the opportunity to meet and network with representatives from some of the 2015 beneficiaries.

Founded in 2008, Climate Ride holds three multi-day charity bike rides and also offers Climate Hikes in Glacier National Park and Bryce-Zion and Independent Challenges annually around the country.

It was the first adventure travel nonprofit to raise funds for environmental causes and awareness about the importance of bike safety and advocacy, thus making the connection that an increase in active transportation will reduce carbon emissions that plague the environment.

A celebration in Boston will follow.

All riders must raise a minimum of $2,800 by Sept.

11 in order to participate.

Participants can enter the discount code climateride2015 for $25 off their registration fee.
