Discover the unique urban wilderness of Boston Harbor, and unravel the fascinating stories embedded in Peddocks Island's rich history.
This is a rare and unique opportunity to explore this island in a different way, connecting with nature and ourselves.
Your Ticket Includes:
- Round- trip ferry ticket from Hewitt's Cove in Hingham
- Public access to Peddocks Island for the first time in nearly 3 years!
- A daylong workshop on forest bathing
- Time for personal exploration and reflection
INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS:
COVID-19 Protocol: Masks are currently optional in accordance with local mandates.
If you are having any COVID, flu, or cold symptoms or not feeling well within two weeks leading up to the walk, please do not attend (see liability & release form)
Participants: This program is geared towards adults (18+)
Arriving and Parking: Participants must arrive to Hewitt's Cove in Hingham at 8:30am to board the ferry and depart promptly at 9:00am.
The boat will not wait for late visitors, and no refunds will be issued if you miss the boat.
Parking is available in the Hingham Shipyard lot for $2/day
Bathrooms: Accessible restrooms are available in the Peddocks Island Visitor Center
What to bring:
- Signed liability & release form. You can also email your form to [email protected], but it must be received at least 24 hours before the event.
- Lunch, snacks and anything else you will need for the entire day.There is a visitor center with electricity and potable water, but no food is available for purchase on the island.
- Refillable water bottle
- Sunscreen & bug spray
- Something to sit on, like a light camping chair, blanket, towel, or small tarp
- Comfortable walking shoes and comfortable clothes with an extra warm layer. Be prepared for cooler temperatures and possible rain. This is a rain or shine event so unless there is a significant downpour or storm, we will still walk in the rain or snow so bring whatever you need to feel comfortable.
- A light backpack to hold your belongings so that your hands are free
- Swimsuit, water shoes, and towel (optional)
- Mask (optional)
