Dedicated to preserving the Japanese cultural tradition of “festivals” and “fairs”, the Japan Festival Boston has grown since its humble beginnings back in 2012.
It is now the largest festival promoting Japanese culture in all of New England, with more than 30,000 visitors attending last year’s festival.
With the goal of a creating a Japanese cultural festival that will thrive for the next 100 years, the Japanese and Japanese-American community in Boston has come together to create an event that introduces many forms of Japan, including its traditional and pop culture, business and industry, and much more.
2 stages will host various performances from traditional Japanese dance to music, and even the globally popular cosplay contest. Attendees of all ages can enjoy our cultural workshops that began last year, experiencing a wide range of Japan.
Exhibits will include food booths (approx. 30) and non-food booths (approx. 100) introducing Japanese culture, activities of the local Japanese community, and other Japan related information and events.
Stage performances will showcase many aspects of Japan, including Japanese culture workshops, cosplay, and musical performances.
There will also be a raffle and prize giveaway.
