Join a family-friendly tour to discover how artists have depicted special moments of everyday life in neighborhoods near and far. Tours last 30 minutes.

Drop-In Gallery Activity: Art-Inspired Mindfulness
11 am and 3 pm

Take a break in the galleries with a 30-minute art- and nature-inspired movement and mindfulness exercise. Join an MFA Educator in practicing gentle yoga poses so you’re refreshed and ready to continue your visit.

Story Hour
10:30 am and 1:30 pm

Stop by to hear children’s stories about the world around us. Leave after one story or stay for the whole hour.

Drop-In Art Making: Embossed Artwork
10 am–4 pm, Koch Gallery

Learn about the metalworking technique known as repoussé or repoussage. Then give it a try by pressing on the back of a piece of metal to create a design that pops out on the front.

Drop-In Art Making: Photo Collage
10 am–4 pm, Shapiro Family Courtyard

Have your picture taken, then use patterned paper, drawing materials, and mixed media to transform it into a photo collage inspired by Behind Blue Eyes, an artwork in the exhibition Who Holds Up the Sky? that highlights children’s perspectives on the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Drop-In Art Making: Impressionist Landscapes
10 am–4 pm, Druker Studios, Linde Family Wing

The Impressionists used quick brush strokes and a variety of bright colors to create an “impression” of the world around them. Take a look at Impressionist artworks on view in galleries 252, 253, and 255, then head to Druker Studios to create your own Impressionist-inspired landscape using watercolors and oil pastels.
