The streets of Portsmouth will ring with the music of the sea. Singers and musicians wander the sidewalks downtown, and the sounds of sea shanties and forebitters waft through the doorways of nearly a dozen venues all within a block or two of Market Square.

Open to all ages: For our Open Sings, PMFF uses three pub venues that are also full-service restaurants, suitable for all ages. So feel free to bring your singing and non-singing kids along!

The festival is held on the last weekend in September, with free events both Saturday and Sunday. View Event Schedule.

Since the autumn of 2000, the festival has celebrated our local and national heritage of seafaring and maritime trades by taking nautical songs and music to the pubs, cafés, churches and streets of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
