Boston Lyric Opera’s Street Stage returns to South Boston for a night of music, community-building, and fun!

BLO’s virtuosic musicians will serenade audiences in Boston’s largest waterfront park with a delightful concert program featuring fan-favorite repertoire.

There will be dinner, yard games, and family-friendly art activities provided by Boston Harbor Now. Enjoy nearby playgrounds, take a stroll to the ocean, or meet neighbors from the surrounding community during this memorable summer event.

This program is free and recommended for audiences of all ages. Texts and English translations of the multilingual program will be provided on site.

Street Stage is supported by the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture and the City of Boston through the Neighborhood and Downtown Activation Grant.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!

Arrival
Arrivals are welcome on a rolling basis, with dinner and community activities starting at 5:30; the musical program will be interspersed through the evening. BLO staff will be on site to provide programs and answer questions. You are welcome to come and go during the event.

Seating
Limited numbers of picnic tables, folding chairs, and blankets will be provided on site and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Accessibility
Moakley Park is fully wheelchair accessible. If you need any special accommodation on site, please email access@blo.org at least one week before the performance.

Weather
Street Stage will proceed in a variety of weather conditions, including direct sun and light drizzle. In the case of severe inclement weather (including storms, strong winds, and extreme heat) BLO staff will update our website with the new performance time. Register for the event to receive an e-mail with weather-related updates.

Public Transit
The nearest MBTA is JFK/UMASS (Red Line). Walk under the highway and proceed along Old Colony Avenue; the park will be on your right.

Bus access is available via the #16 bus (Old Colony Ave. At Msgr O’Callaghan Way).

Parking
There is limited parking in the lot at 450 Old Colony Avenue. Street parking is available along the edge of the park, and in the lot at 1187 Columbia Road.

Food & Beverages
Food and beverages are welcome on site, and a community dinner will be served. We encourage you to bring water.

Pets
Pets are welcome at Street Stage events but should be kept on a leash and cleaned up after.
