DAVID FINCKEL, cello & WU HAN, piano David Finckel is one of the most distinguished cellists of his generation, celebrated worldwide as a performer, recording artist, educator, and artistic leader.

He performs extensively with his longtime musical partner, pianist Wu Han, and appears internationally as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician.

During his thirty-four seasons with the Emerson String Quartet, Finckel earned nine GRAMMY® Awards, the Avery Fisher Prize, and widespread acclaim for definitive recordings of the complete string quartets of Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Bartók, and Shostakovich.

As Artistic Co-Director of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and Co-Founder of Music@Menlo, Finckel is known for imaginative programming, sustained mentorship, and visionary leadership.

Wu Han is one of today’s most influential figures in classical music, internationally acclaimed as a performer, recording artist, educator, and arts administrator.

A recipient of Musical America’s Musician of the Year Award, she performs widely across the United States, Europe, and Asia, appearing as soloist with major orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, and Aspen Festival Orchestra.

BENJAMIN BEILMAN, violin
Benjamin Beilman has earned international acclaim for his passionate performances and distinctive tone, described by The New York Times as “muscular with a glint of violence” and praised by The Strad for its “pure poetry.” Known for his instinctive sense of form and color, he brings a balance of elegance and surprise to both core repertoire and contemporary music.

Highlights of Beilman’s 2025–26 season include appearances with the Minnesota Orchestra, Dresden Philharmonic, Antwerp Symphony, Nashville Symphony, and Solistes Européens Luxembourg, as well as a month-long tour of Australasia with leading orchestras.

He continues his acclaimed recital partnership with pianist Steven Osborne and curates chamber music programs at the Sun Valley Music Festival.

Recent seasons have included his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic under Kirill Petrenko, alongside performances with major orchestras worldwide.

A dedicated advocate for new music, Beilman has inspired and premiered works by Frederic Rzewski, Gabriella Smith, and Chris Rogerson, and joined the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music in 2022.

He plays the 1740 “Ysaÿe” Guarneri del Gesù, on loan from the Nippon Music Foundation.
