Join Director Ian Ives the morning of December 14 for a 'holly-day' season walk at Ashumet Holly in Falmouth—home to one of the largest holly plantations in New England!

The sanctuary boasts more than 65 types of hollies, ranging from American to Asian to European specimens, as well as the rare Franklinia tree. We'll learn about the natural history of Ashumet’s 50 original hollies, which were propagated by former property owner—and the first Agriculture Secretary of Massachusetts—Wilfred Wheeler.

You won't go home empty-handed, either! Bring a grocery bag to gather your own holly boughs for the holidays. Holly Guides will be handed out free of charge. Your holly boughs can be used in stunning seasonal decorations like centerpieces or garlands, and holly sprigs make beautiful finishing touches on gift-wrapped presents!

Cost
Members: $10/adult, $8/child
Nonmembers: $12/adult, $10/child
Suitable for adults and children ages 12 and older.
