September’s full moon is called the “corn moon”, because it occurs around the time that corn is ready for harvesting before fall frost sets in.

Learn to navigate by compass in the waning daylight hours as we approach the autumn equinox, then practice your navigation skills on a guided moonlit hike.

Chestnut Hill by Moonlight invites you to experience a magical full moon evening on the farm.

Celebrate community with your fellow evening hikers.

Marvel as day turns into night as the sun sets and the moon rises, then go on a guided hike by moonlight.

Make wishes as stars pop out one by one, and look for familiar constellations.

Campfires may be a part of the event, depending on weather and current drought conditions.

Your guide will be ranger Bob, a local scoutmaster and devoted member of the Trustees community.

This family friendly event welcomes adults and children.

Please note: though we love dogs, they are not permitted at Chestnut Hill Farm.
