The “hunters moon” in October traditionally signaled that it was time to hunt for meat so it could be preserved for the cold winter ahead.

On this spooky moonlit evening, we will search for nocturnal hunters.

Search for bat silhouettes against a glowing orange harvest moon and learn about owl calls in hopes that you’ll hear a feathered hunter on your hike.

Chestnut Hill by Moonlight invites you to experience a magical full moon evening on the farm.

Celebrate community with your fellow evening hikers.

Marvel as day turns into night as the sun sets and the moon rises, then go on a guided hike by moonlight.

Make wishes as stars pop out one by one, and look for familiar constellations.

Campfires may be a part of the event, depending on weather and current drought conditions.

Your guide will be ranger Bob, a local scoutmaster and devoted member of the Trustees community.

This family-friendly event welcomes adults and children.

*Please note, this is not a scary/haunted trail event.
