One of the best things about late winter is maple season!

This time of year, when the weather conditions are just right, sap begins to run in maple trees and sugaring operations kick into high gear.

Join us on a family-friendly stroll for all ages to learn about the mapling process including how to identify our maple trees and set taps, as well as how to collect and process the precious sap.

Following the class, the Powisset Farm Store will be open to purchase genuine maple syrup and maple treats.

Your guide will be Trustees Ranger Tim, a naturalist, and recipient of the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation’s “Outstanding Park Interpreter” award.

This fun and interactive program will include:

A look into tree biology and how a deciduous tree works from the inside Cultural background and insight into the history of tapping A live tapping demonstration
(And if the tree is actively running, a chance to taste sap right from the source!)
