Samīkṣaṇa celebrates the rich classical musical heritage from Southern India, showcasing compositions from 15th - 19th century, an era during which composers were devoted to crafting music and poetry for Bharatanatyam.The performance invites the audience to savor masterpieces from the past that captures the essence of human experience - from romantic love to devotional abandonment interwoven with the artistry of todays dancing bodies and minds.
It follows the emotional arc of moving from structured precision to empathetic resonance and culminating in the exuberance of dance.
The presentation will be in Bharatanatyam style (Classical dance from Southern India) and features Soumya Rajaram and a talented ensemble of Bharatanatyam performers.
