For a second year in a row, the Massachusetts town considered to be the birthplace of America won't hold its annual Fourth of July parade and fireworks show.

'Due to the current state and local guidelines, along with keeping the safety of our community, visitors, parade participants and volunteers as a priority, the July Four Plymouth Committee has determined that we will need to cancel the 2021 Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks this year due to ongoing public health concerns and state safety protocols regarding COVID-19,' a statement from the organizers said.

Stay tuned for information for 2022.

The festivities begin with the parade starting out at Cordage Park Marketplace on Court Street in North Plymouth and winding its way down Court Street through downtown Plymouth and Main Street, continuing onto Main St. Ext and, turning left onto Water Street.

The reviewing stand is located next to Plymouth Rock. For best parade viewing, we recommend Coles Hill, (across from Plymouth Rock), Benny’s Plaza, Memorial Hall, Holmes Field (North Plymouth), and the Plymouth County Courthouse, although there really are no bad viewing points along the parade route.
