boston nature center february vacation week programs photoDiscover the wonders of winter at the Boston Nature Center’s February Vacation Week! Kids will explore the snowy landscape, uncover animal tracks, tap maple trees, and enjoy hands-on activities that bring the season to life.

Younger Children (Ages 5 - 9)
Children are grouped by age—Owls (ages 5–6), Hawks (ages 6–7), and Falcons (ages 7–9) - with each group following an age-appropriate curriculum aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework.

Discover the magic of winter at the Boston Nature Center this February break! Campers will explore the season's frozen landscapes, track wildlife through snow-covered trails, and uncover the secrets of how plants and animals survive the coldest months.

Older Children (Ages 10-14)
Through outdoor adventures, nature crafts, and interactive games, participants (10-14 years) will connect with the natural world in exciting new ways. This week-long program offers the perfect blend of exploration, learning, and fun for young nature enthusiasts ready to embrace winter's wonders.

Themes are explored through diverse activities such as nature observations, investigations, group projects, journaling, art, group games, songs, and guided walks on the sanctuary’s trails.

Outdoor play is an essential part of the program. Children will spend time in the Nature Nook, build forts, and explore the 67-acre wildlife sanctuary daily. Proper outdoor clothing is essential to ensure every child enjoys this valuable outdoor learning experience.
