Santa will arrive again this year at Pope’s Landing in Danversport.

The River Committee and Harbormaster Chris Sanborn have been very busy, trying to make sure the event will be even better than last year’s event, which attracted some 300 children and their families.

This year there will be two horse-drawn wagon rides, not just one, to bring the revelers to John George Park and back. There will three ponies for rides, not just two.

There will be a moon bounce ride and a trackless train, face painting and crafts, which should keep the kids happy when they’re not on Santa’s knee. And, parents will be happy with the free photo they receive of their little one with Santa.

Santa will arrive around 1 p.m. and sit in a big chair on the harbormaster’s porch. A photographer will be on hand to take one, free, 4 by 6-inch picture of each child with Santa.

Family and friends can take more photos of their children — or each other — with one of the snowmen or other characters who will be busy helping Santa all afternoon.

There will be a very special, cute elf, dressed in a red jacket with white fur, a green elf hat, green pants and white boots.

Harbor Street will be closed to traffic from the intersection of Liberty Street on one end to Mead Street on the other. Residents and friends are asked to park at Riverside School.

The Danvers High School Key Club has signed on to help.
DJ Ira Malkin will be spinning the holiday discs.
There will be over 3,000 cookies, supplied by the Danversport Yacht Club.
The Daily Harvest is supplying apple cider, and the 99 Restaurant is donating popcorn.
Danvers Recreation is rounding up the supplies for face painting and crafts.

Just for Fun is bringing the bouncy house.
