The Lawn on D is a park and playground oasis for children and adults near the Boston convention center. The park features art installations, live music, The park attracts many families in the area due to its cool features.Open Lawn Hours
Monday-Wednesday & Friday-Saturday from 7:00am - 11:00pm
Thursday & Sunday from 7:00am - 10:30pm, except when closed for private events - please check our calendar which is updated frequently.
Art Installations - The LED swings may be gone after a 10 year run, but you can explore the colorful new 'Kaleidoscope Garden' art installation, perfect for photos and a fresh take on public art. View our Lawn on D photo guide. The Kaleidoscope Garden and Urban Grove are open whenever the Lawn is open.
Pickleball
Pickleball is open daily, 9:00 am - 9:00 pm (limited additional nighttime lighting on the courts is new for 2024!), whenever the Lawn is open to the public. Pickleball is open play except during concession hours, when reservations are available and encouraged. Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance and take precedence, but please be courteous. Make your reservations here.
Lawn games are only available during concession hours: Thursday from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Friday & Saturday from 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm, and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Please check the Event Calendar for closings due to weather and private events.
Play Games!
Break the ice with a game of bocce, ping-pong, pickleball, cornhole or Jenga. Our game equipment is available to the public during Open Lawn hours, when the Pavilion on D is open and will be supervised by Lawn On D staff!
Pickleball
Pickleball! Courts are FREE and available whenever The Lawn is open to the public. [Thur 3pm - 8pm | Fri, Sat & Sun 12:00pm - 8:00pm]
Please take note of the calendar for open play times (first come, first serve). When concessions are open and lawn games are out, we rely on an honor-system reservation system for use of the courts.
Refreshments
This year we welcome Rebel Restaurants as our food & beverage provider. They bring their restaurant chops to The Lawn On D with an expanded concessions menu that includes grill favorites, wraps, deli sandwiches, salads, snacks and beverages. Please check the schedule for concession operating dates & times.
The lawn on D is open on both weekdays and weekends, unless it has been booked for a private event. When the venue is not booked, you can often find public events that range from live music & lawn games to food festivals.
How things work at The Lawn:
- Lawn games are out whenever the bar is open (hours are listed on the calendar)
- New! Pickleball courts! Reserve a court
- Order food and/or drink directly from the bar
- Live entertainment with local bands on the weekends
- No dogs; no outside alcohol; no outside food during concession hours.
