The next performance in Powers Music School’s Musical Storytelling Program will be “Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock” on Saturday, January 26, 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., at the Belmont Public Library.

These performances will feature the narration of the popular children’s books by Eric A.

Kimmel, and original music by Powers’ faculty and guest artists Yas Ishibashi (piano, vocals), Jessica Cooper (vocals, narration), Michael Carey (saxophone, flute, clarinet), and Nurudafina Abena (African percussion).

Admission is free, but families are advised to arrive early.

The Musical Storytelling Program is supported in part by Belmont Savings Bank Foundation and by the Watertown Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
