The Lexington Historical Society, founded in 1886, operates three historic houses in Lexington::
Buckman Tavern - where the Minutemen gathered the night before the first battle of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775.
The Hancock-Clarke House - parsonage of Jonas Clarke where Samuel Adams and John Hancock were staying the night before the battle.
Munroe Tavern - British Field Hospital, April 19, 1775.
All three properties provide guided tours from early April until October 31.
