boston pride kickoff at city hall plaza photoJoin us on Thursday, June 1, at City Hall Plaza at 4 p.m. to kickoff Pride month with a flag raising, performances, and Portraits of Pride unveiling!

The Mayor's Office of LGBTQ+ Advancement and Mayor's Office of Arts & Culture will be celebrating National LGBTQ+ Pride month by hosting, supporting, and amplifying events that serve the local Queer community.

Boston City Hall will be lit in rainbow colors, which will remain lit for the majority of the month of June.

This celebration of National LGBTQ+ Pride Month will also feature the unveiling of Portraits of Pride, a photography project that highlights LGBTQ+ leaders, which will remain on the Plaza for the entire month of June.

The event will also include a flag raising and several performances including Big Body Kweeng, Neon Calypso, Patty Bourrée, and more!

Boston Pride Parade - June 10
After a four-year hiatus, a Pride parade will be held in Boston. Boston Pride for the People is hosting the June 10 parade that steps off at 11 a.m. on Boylston Street. It will snake its way through the Back Bay, the South End and end in Beacon Hill.

TIPS↑ top

  • Pack appropriately! The Boston Pride Festival is a rain or shine event, so plan accordingly for the forecast weather conditions. Consider bringing sunscreen, plenty of bottled water, and an umbrella or raincoat.

  • Have fun!

  • Watch out for (your) kids. Make sure children are safe at all times. As the crowds pour in from the Parade onto the Festival grounds, it may become difficult to keep an eye on the little ones. Consider moving to the Family Fun Zone until the Parade is complete.

  • Respect the instructions from the Festival Staff and Volunteers. These individuals will be clearly distinguishable from the crowd. They are only doing their job and enforcing safety measures for the benefit of everyone.
