Join Fruitlands Museum for an incredible night of Afropop with the 8-piece ensemble, Koliba.Koliba Afropop led by Mohammad Kalifa Kamara of West Africa.
The band blends styles of Africa with contemporary American and European sounds.
They have performed at First Nights in Boston, Worcester, Providence, Westerly, and at the Peabody Essex Museum, Boston Arts Festival and Cambridge River Festival.
Audiences love to dance to the music of Kalifa and Koliba and leader Mohammad, a drummer dancer and singer is a charismatic performer and former Artistic Director of African Ballet of Gambia and has performed extensively throughout Africa, Europe and the US.
The Concert begins at 7pm.
Gates Open 6pm.
This Summer Concert is presented on the lawn on Fruitlands.
Bring your blanket, lawn chairs and picnic basket.
There is plenty of room on the concert lawn to spread out and get comfortable.
Before the concert starts, enjoy a picnic on the lawn and visit the exhibitions on view in the Galleries which will be open from 6-7pm.
At our Summer concerts, friendly dogs are welcome to join and must be kept on a leash at all times.
Please be prepared to pick up after your dog.
No outside alcohol is permitted.
The Fruitlands Café will be selling beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.
AllTown Fresh will be ready when the gates open at 6pm to serve a delicious dinner menu.
