Embark on an exploration as we wander through the forest trails in search of mushrooms.Together we will learn about the “funguys” of the forest as we discuss their adaptations, lifecycle, and their importance in the food web.
Learn about decomposition in our ecosystems and how mushrooms break down organic matter and recycle it back into our ecosystem.
Participants will go on a mushroom hunt where they will play trailside games and practice identifying mushrooms by their fruit looking at the caps, gills, and stems.
Please note, this program is held entirely outdoors.
Participants should dress for the weather.
Please note this class is geared toward children with or without their adult companions.
