Boston Town Crier Tours offers Freedom Trail walking tours at 9:30am, Sunday-Saturday (everyday), and 12:30pm, Monday-Friday (weekdays). Starting early at makes sense because it’s still cool outside and tours are less crowded.

Purchase tickets for 9:30am or 12:30pm tours or arrange a private tour here. You can also call Donald Watson, owner, at 617-794-7512. In case of bad weather, please call 1-888-SEE-BOSTON to confirm tours are running.

Boston Town Crier tours finish at Faneuil Hall. If you start early, you can walk to the end, the remaining 1.5 miles of the Freedom Trail to the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown. Return to Boston by water taxi or subway station at Bunker Hill/Community College, to see the rest of the city—leaving plenty of time to explore the Little Italy section of the North End of Boston, with terrific Italian restaurants, pastries, coffee & ice-cold gelato.

Donald Watson, owner of Boston Town Crier tours, has given Freedom Trail walking tours for 20 years. He worked for other tour companies for 10 years, and founded Boston Town Crier 10 years ago. He portrays historic figure “James Otis,” whose gravesite is on the Freedom Trail.

Not only is he a premier tour operator, but also he is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and performed in movies with Jack Nicholson, Cher, and Daniel Day Lewis, and national television in Spenser for Hire (a local favorite), Criminal Minds, and national and local TV commercials. He is native Bostonian with a Boston accent.

Boston Town Crier Tours’ several tour guides are personal favorites of many celebrities, local and national political figures, and foreign diplomats as well as school groups in New England. Private tours are available by request.

Boston Town Crier Tours has a commendation from the Governor of Massachusetts; written up in the Boston Herald; covered by NPR; Ann Curry of CBS’s Today Show called it a “wonderful tour”; as seen on Burt Wolfe’s Travel Show; and C. Harvest, National Independent News.
