Family Rides - Visiting the park as a family creates magical memories. Here is a list of rides that the entire family can enjoy together. These rides are fun without being super thrill rides, and minimal height restrictions.

Hurricane Harbor
A wet and wild world of fun awaits you at Hurricane Harbor. This family-friendly water park boasts two 500,000-gallon wave pools, more than a dozen slides, a children’s play area, and the recently added water coaster, Typhoon. Best of all, Hurrican Harbor is free with admission to Six Flags New England. So don’t forget your bathing suit…

TIPS↑ top

  • Plan to start your day at attractions farthest from the main entrance. Also, ride your favorite rides when the park first opens, or after 5 pm.

  • To save time, eat at non-traditional lunch and dinner hours.

  • Bring a jacket or sweatshirt for cool mornings and evenings. You can store it in the lockers near the main entrance.

  • Arrange a meeting place and time in case your party becomes separated. Cell phones make reuniting a lot easier nowadays.

  • Consider purchasing a season pass. Many early bird specials include perks like free parking and access to seasonal events like fright night and others.

3-starThings to know before you go
Okay, we visited Six Flags with our 6 & 4 year old for the first time today. First, PARKING is expensive at $15 per car. There is a continually running tram to and from the park, but you could easily walk it in less than 5 minutes. Next, ADMISSION - We bought the season pass. $69.99 per person for unlimited access for the year. That will pay for itself in 2 visits. You pay at the gate then you need to go into a second queue to get your actual season pass. 15 minutes or so. Next, GATE/SECURITY - No outside food or drink is allowed. I wish I knew this, as they made me throw all of the snacks & drinks I brought away. What is this, the airport? I found this extremely annoying. Then they charge you prices that are even more than Disney for food ($40 for a pizza? I'm not even kidding). So I'd advise either eating before you go or stashing snacks cleverly. You can bring water in, but that's all. Next, best to bring a stroller with little ones, but you can rent the same kind you can at Disney for $15. Next, RIDES - Lots of mega thrill rides/coasters and lots of kiddie rides (Cute rides in Wiggles World and Looney Tunes World). Not a whole lot in between. Those that are family oriented are either spinny and disorientating or ones that get you wet. But overall a wide variety. Extremely strict on height requirements, and rule heavy on the whole. DRINKS - there are clean water fountains at all restrooms. Or, you can purchase a large souvenir drink for $12.99 and then refill for free that day and then .99 the rest of the year. It's all soda though, so I'd bring water if possible.
