The Newton Centre Bowl comes alive with music and dancing for six weeks this summer in the open space adjacent to the playground and just down the hill from the Tyler Terrace hut.

With free open-air seating in this vast park space, there is plenty of room for families, friends, groups large and small to come together and enjoy diverse musical styles.

Bring along a blanket, a chair a picnic dinner, and join us for these summer performances in the park!

Sunday July 9 - Cross Street
Cross Street can be found at the intersection of rock, americana, jazz and blues. Formed in 2014, Cross Street has played all over Newton, Brookline and further afield, bringing its spirited and eclectic mix of music to audiences of all ages.

Sunday, July 16 - Kalifa & Koliba
Koliba brings together musicians from two continents to blend traditional and modern styles– including West African Rhythms, Hi Life, Reggae, Ska, Zouk and more. Bandleader Mohamed Kalifa Camara takes listeners on a joyful journey from ancient Africa to modern, urban America with a sound and beat that brings our audiences to their feet, dancing and singing along.

Wednesday, July 23 - The Wolff Sisters
The Wolff Sisters is fronted by three sisters -- Rebecca on acoustic guitar, Kat on the keys, Rachael on electric guitar, and all three on lead vocals and harmonies. Raised on Bob Dylan, The Band, and Little Feat, the sisters crafted their sound around a honky tonk piano in the living room of their childhood home.

Sunday, July 301 - Gumbo
Featuring the sounds of New Orleans Funk and Jazz with some R&B on the side.

Sunday, August 6 - Monster Groove Band
Monster Groove band is a 6-10 piece R&B band including: bass, drums, male & female vocals, key board

Sunday, August 13 - The 60s
A 1960's tribute band covering the top hits of the decade, including Motown, 60’s soul, British Invasion, girl groups, & psychedelic rock. The 60's also offer professional shows with video and a narrator.

The park is a short distance from Newton Centre where there is plenty of parking and restaurants for you to choose from. Additional parking is available on Tyler Terrace and at the Mason Rice School parking lot.
