revere beach photoBoston Beaches: Revere Beach
America's first public beach established in 1896 in Revere, MA.

This 3-mile crescent is a popular, and very crowded oasis - in the Boston area, so don't come here seeking alone time. This beach will be packed with sunbathers and breeze-seekers on sweltering summer days, even in the middle of the week.

Visitors can walk Revere Boulevard, which runs parallel to the beach. The T's Blue Line offers service between Revere Beach and downtown Boston

If your ideal day at the beach is less about swimming in the surf and sunbathing, and more of an excuse to follow a great lunch with a long walk, scoot on over to Revere Beach and line up for roast beef on a sesame seed bun, or try the fish and chips at Kelly's.

It's also fun to watch planes taking off and landing above, as the airspace is very near to Logan airport.

Revere beach is also home to the famous weekend long Revere Beach Sand sculpting Contest, the largest Sand Sculpting Festival on the East Coast.

Facilities at Revere Beach include restrooms, changing rooms, concessions, first aid, bandstand, pavilion, and of course, Kelly's.

Lifeguards on duty from late June to early September.

Revere Beach has paved walkways, and beach wheelchairs (2 sunbathing wheelchairs, 1 floating wheelchair). Restrooms are also accessible.
