For the tour with the most crunch, you can't beat The Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory. From a glass-enclosed corridor, watch chip makers at work as they transform the lowly spud into America's favorite snack.

The factory is one of the area's top tourist destinations, with more than 250,000 visitors annually. Visitors will learn how these legendary chips are made start to finish, from local farmers' fields to your table. Plus you'll get a delightful free sample bag at the end of the self-guided tour.

If you can't make it to the Cape or if you just want to learn about Cape Cod Potato Chips, try taking the online tour on their website.

TIPS↑ top

  • The tour only lasts about 15 minutes, so consider complimenting this tour with boat watching by Hyannis Harbor, a trip to the beach or a stroll down main street to take in some of the fun shops in Hyannis. Naturally, it gets super crowded on rainy days, so try to go early.

5-starGreat Chips
The Robussut Russett are the best - no doubt. Can't find a lot down here in Shreveport Louisiana.

A cool trip, Grade 2 Student
I have been here before. It was cool. I got to see the potato chips that were being made, but today when I visited they were not processing any chips because they were doing maintenance. The good thing was that we still got to sample chips that were already made and read the signs about how chips are made.
